Before registering to attend a Pennsylvania Thinks Conversation Café, kindly note the following:
- To register for one of our Conversation Cafés, you will need a six-digit event code. Each event code is available on our Events page.
- You do not need to be an expert about HIV prevention and/or care to participate in one of our Conversation Cafés. We are interested in hearing your thoughts, no matter how much you may know about HIV prevention and/or care. Still, if you would like more information about what is happening in Pennsylvania, you are welcome to Learn More.
- The information we collect from you helps us better understand who is participating in our Conversation Cafés. This information is held in strict confidence. It will only be visible to staff at the University of Pittsburgh’s HIV Prevention & Care Project.
- Although we ask basic questions about your HIV test history when you register, this information is not disclosed to anyone during our Conversation Cafés. Attendance at one of our Conversation Cafés does not imply that you or any other participant has acquired HIV.
- We video record portions of each Conversation Café. We only use these videos to help us produce an accurate written transcript of the thoughts verbalized by you and your fellow participants. No portion of any video will be publicly disclosed.
- Participation in one of our Conversation Cafés is open to Pennsylvania residents 18+ years of age. Participation is voluntary.
- By registering for and attending one of our Conversation Cafés, you give us consent to collect the personal information you provide. You also give us consent to video record you, produce a written transcript from this video recording, and analyze this transcript to understand common themes. From time to time we may make publicly available reports about what our analyses show, but no report will disclose your participation, just as no report will disclose any personal information you provide.
